Patagonia Day Trip

  As with all places on Earth, Arizona has one especially rough season of the four. Summer can be especially difficult on residents left behind when the snowbirds fly away. One solution to beat the heat and monotony of summer is to flee to take refuge in the cooler areas of the state.  On this beautiful, yet windy, day in May, Mike and I fled to the south on a day trip to Patagonia, Arizona. As a travel advisor, I specialize in road tripping, scenic drives, and solo travel. The itinerary was planned and remained flexible to allow for discovery of points of interest and the comfort of our canine traveling companions, Wally and Tilly. The weather was glorious with clear skies, cooling breezes and forecast at 80°F (27°C). A full five degrees cooler than was expected in Queen Creek. Tetris Packing Tutorial 1 - The Three Hour Tour

Packing for a journey, no matter how long or short, is a highly personal thing. Yet at the same time, universal. From time to time I'll share some packing examples and perhaps give out a few hints, tips and tricks along the way. Today I will be sharing my road bag. A road bag comes into play when one is traveling about an hour away from home. About one hour's drive to the destination. Another hour or so to enjoy the destination, perhaps a hike or a picnic. Then about an hour's drive back home. A little trip I refer to as the Three Hour Tour. The first picture is of my road bag packed and ready to go. The bag is compact and only takes up a small area of space. The top zips open nicely to allow for ample space to dig around. The front pocket is nice for quickly finding those items needed most during the course of travel. I should probably look into getting a more compact umbrella.
