Tetris Packing Tutorial 1 - The Three Hour Tour
Packing for a journey, no matter how long or short, is a highly personal thing. Yet at the same
time, universal. From time to time I'll share some packing examples and perhaps give out a few
hints, tips and tricks along the way. Today I will be sharing my road bag. A road bag comes into
play when one is traveling about an hour away from home. About one hour's drive to the
destination. Another hour or so to enjoy the destination, perhaps a hike or a picnic. Then about
an hour's drive back home. A little trip I refer to as the Three Hour Tour.
The first picture is of my road bag packed and ready to go. The bag is compact and only takes
up a small area of space. The top zips open nicely to allow for ample space to dig around. The
front pocket is nice for quickly finding those items needed most during the course of travel. I
should probably look into getting a more compact umbrella.
The second picture is the usual contents of my road bag. A string bag for purchases, etc. Tech
case, which usually contains my tablet, charger, and notebook and pen. An umbrella, because
having your own shade with you is advisable when traveling in Arizona. Also rain. Small
drawstring bag containing promotional materials. A compact picnic set, for civilized picnic
lunches. Green silicone bag contains items to keep things clean, including a reusable
disposable cotton towel, toilet seat covers, etc. Clear silicone bag contains most needed items
during a trip. Sun-readers, first aid kit, folding fan, and a spare paper towel or two. A small
change purse, because one never knows when one will need a handful of loose change. Last
but not least the ever-important sunscreen. This example is 70 SPF.
I hope you've found this post helpful in some way. Next time I'll show you how I pack for a
weekend away. Happy Trails!
